Sandhill Cranes

This weekend is the Crane Festival in Monte Vista - we won't be here. We have a playdate with a friend that just so happens to know a lot about birds. Kristina/Ava and Me/Davd went to the Wildlife Refuge in Monte Vista/Alamosa to see the cranes. It was really cool to see them, hear them and just watch them do what they do. We even got to see them do their little dance thing but when I started filming none would do it. We did get to see them fly in large groups, we watched them eat breakfast and head to their relaxing area until dusk. The cranes spend most of the day in low wet land areas but in the early morning and evening they eat and fly around. We had a good time. David and Ava enjoyed running around outside together. David really enjoyed using his binoculars (they're Dustin's) and flapping like a bird although he said he was a rocket, it looked like a bird.
Cute quote of the morning came from Ava. They were running, she stops and says, "David your my best friend, huh". So cute, Kristina and I loved it.
