Salt Lake - Temple Square

Tuesday, yesterday, we headed down to Salt Lake for the day.  We decided to spend the day at temple square to see the sites there.  The weather was really weird and so sometimes we were outside in nice weather and then the next second we were running inside to find shelter from the wind/rain/snow that would be confronting us.  We had a great time - we do wish that David would have cooperated a little more so that we could see some more buildings but he certainly had fun running around the water fountains.

David looking at the temple from the top of the Joseph Smith memorial building.  We tried to get a family picture at the spot where everyone takes their wedding photos but David would have none of that, so Dustin and I took the picture without him.  David did get his own picture though.

We were able to get up close and personal with the temple.  David liked to feel the granite walls and enjoyed seeing the ornate doors.  He really liked feeling the detailed beehive molded into the doorknobs. Matthew was very cooperative through the whole thing - he slept very snuggly in the carrier and was oblivious to the entire experience.

On one of our trips inside we went into the tabernacle.  It was really cool to see the inside.  We got to have the acoustical demonstration done for us and it was super cool!  It was amazing to hear so much and so clearly without the microphone.  This sculpture of Joseph & Emma Smith is on the grounds and just across from the fountain that David liked best.

We had lots of fun as our family of four on temple square.  We also had lots of fun with Aunt Kelly, who met us there and hung out with us for the day.  Thanks Kelly for spending the day with us, giving us directions and letting us hang out at the house for a hour.
