Memorial Day

***Loaded with Pictures***
We had originally planned on heading up to Fort Collins for Memorial Day weekend. We didn't get to go because of church callings that Dustin and I both had to attend to. Dustin's boss had mentioned to Dustin that the train was starting it's season of running up to LaVeta and that the tickets were super cheap in honor of the first year the train ran to LaVeta. We got our tickets for $18.78 each, which is really good for the ride! Anyway it was also Dustin's birthday and we wanted to do something special, it's not every year that Dustin's birthday is a national holiday!
We rode in a dome car. We were seated up at the top by the windows, our seats were around a table like a booth in a restaurant. We had a great time on the train. We were free to walk around our car and look out the windows below us. Dustin took David into the vestibule between the cars and David happily exclaimed, "We're on a train! We're on a train!" Later we realized he knew we were on a train but was happy to see the engine.
LaVeta was a let down, we were disappointed. We were able to find an interpretive trail while in town and followed, a little disappointed in the lack of upkeep on the trail but we were able to get a really cute picture of David in the flowers.
