Too Sweet

Today David was baby sat by some friends of ours that have a month old baby.  While the baby was sleeping in a swing David would rock her and sing to her.  Every time we tried to get video he would stop.  It was too cute to see David interact with a little baby.

Making Pizza

Every Friday is pizza/movie night.  David really enjoys helping to make the pizza.  Dustin has recently started helping with the pizza by making the dough every once in a while.  

Whatcha Gonna do?

David enjoys vacuuming the rug.  

David also loves his light saber.  What is a mom to do?  Well, the dad plays right along with him.

I Almost Forgot

When I was looking at our snowshoeing pictures to post I remembered about this picture.  On Saturday, January 17th Dustin and I were in the kitchen getting dinner ready and our grocery list together.  David was left unattended in the chair at the desk and found a dry erase marker.  He decided to color his face or something.  We just laughed and left him like that through dinner and the grocery store.  It came off just fine during his bath that night.  So far we have NOT repeated this activity.   Crazy kid!

Cantankerous Little Boy {DOESN'T EQUAL} Snowshoe Fun

This was our snowshoe trip this past Friday.  This trip was a little different than before from multiple reasons.

1.  David was cranky - he didn't want to go, and then wanted to go but didn't want to get out of the car and then wanted to but didn't want to get in the snow.  We had a hard time getting him ready

2.  The weather had been warm and so the snow was wet and heavy; it made great snowball snow.  The snowshoeing was more like snowshoeing in powdery snow.  David didn't quite know what to do with this since last time it was packed down pretty good and this time it wasn't

3.  We just pulled off to the side of the road near a little stream just outside of South Fork, Colorado.

4.  We actually made it far enough to be out of sight of the car.

5.  All David wanted to do was get in the stream (which we wouldn't allow and made him mad) or build snowmen or lay in the snow.  We still never made it very far but it was pretty where we were.

Snowshoeing with David

These are pictures of David as we got him all ready to snowshoe and of our snowshoeing.  We never made it very far, we could still see the car, but we did have a good time.  David liked digging caves in the snow, so we made a couple of those.  Later after lunch we made some slides which was lots of fun.  Dustin and I both got snow down our pants at one point and it was really cold!  David was so sad to leave but we promised him that we would go snowshoeing again next Friday (and every Friday for as long as we can).  This trail we were on is a snowmobile/x-country trail about 5 minutes from South Fork.  We had planned on going to Wolf Creek Ski area but never made it because we saw this first and thought it would be a good place for David to learn.  We had so much fun!

SunBee

Sunday was David's first Sunday as a Sunbeam in Primary.  He was a little apprehensive to go at first and rightly so since we were visiting another ward.  I stayed with him for about 5 minutes and then snuck out.  He had a great time cutting and glueing some pictures.  Their lesson was about taking care of our bodies.  During sacrament meeting I sang "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam" to him to get him to sit still.  Through out the remainder of sacrament meeting and periodically now I hear "sunbee, sunbee, sunbee for him".  It is too dang cute.  Dustin and I laugh every time we hear him sing it.

Now for any of you that are curious....Our church is divided into smaller units called wards.  We meet for a block of 3 hours divided into 3 meetings.  Sacrament meeting is the entire congregation, Sunday School is for the members 12+ and divided by age until 18 and then the adults meet together to learn.  The third hour is divided into Relief Society for the women and Priesthood for the men.  Primary is the meeting for the kids 3-12 and they meet for the two hours of Sunday School & Relief Society/Priesthood.  Primary is divided by ages.  The Sunbeam class is the first class that the kids experience in Primary at the age of 3.

Jersey Boys

On January 2 Dustin and I went to Jersey Boys.  It was so fun and entertaining.  Yes, there was some language in the show but I thought it was hilarious.  We were amazed at how well casting did to find actors that really looked like the original Four Seasons.  The actor that portrayed Frankie Valli  was phenomenal!  He was able to sound just like Frankie Valli.  It was so much fun and we would go again any time.  I must admit that Dustin and I were in an age group that definitely in the minority.

Wii-lympics

I know some of you have already seen these pictures via Facebook, however some of you have not.  The nine pictures on top are our medal ceremony.  My brother Brian won 5 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze....we only had 7 games in our Wii-lympics so that means that he medaled in everything.  David even got to accept one of Brian's golds for him.  Dustin won a gold in Shooting and I won a gold in Boxing.  The video is of our opening ceremonies (sorry it's sideways);our closing ceremonies complete with a fly over didn't want to load.  We had so much fun.  Just like at the end of real olympics there was a let down of "now what?" when our games were over.

Better Late than Never

Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year!  Happy Valentine's Day, oh what we haven't gotten to that holiday yet.  I know I'm a slacker friend, blogger, updater, Christmas card sender, etc.  Well I'm back now and here are some updates as to what we did over the holidays and just generally what we have been up to.  

1.  We got a Wii for Christmas...yeah!!!

2.  We spent Christmas with my family and had a Wii-lympics event over the course of a couple of days.  Our games were complete with opening, closing and medal ceremonies.

3.  My birthday was celebrated by seeing Bedtime Stories with my whole family the day before and having Double Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake for my birthday cake on my birthday.  

4.  We spent New Year's Eve with our friends the Padilla's and played some Guitar Hero World Tour.  Lots of fun and laughs with the drums and vocals in particular.

5.  Dustin, David and I went to see The Tale of Despereaux and out to lunch for our Christmas gift from my Grandpa.  It was so fun, the movie was cute and of course the food was good!  We later went to Barnes and Nobel to buy the book.

6.  Dustin and I celebrated my birthday by going to the Buell Theater to see Jersey Boys.  It was great!  We loved it!  We also noted that Wicked will be at the Buell in October/November so if we are still in Colorado we are so there!
