Silver Thread

We spent the weekend camping in the Silver Thread of Colorado. We were about half way between Creede and Lake City. Our campsite was called North Clear Creek. We loved our site, the lack of schedule and the time we were able to spend together. We loved to explored the river that ran near by and the creeks the were also around. Enjoy our pictures from our fun weekend.

***GROSSNESS ALERT***
If you don't do well with dead things, don't finish the rest of this post! We enjoyed our explorations along the river. We loved the sights we saw. We loved identifying the plants we knew. We enjoyed the sound of the rushing water. We loved the coolness of the cloud cover and the small drops of rain that fell as we explored. We stopped at one spot along the river and there was a really disgusting smell. Upon closer examination this is what we found. The smell was so bad I had Dustin take the picture so that I could stand closer to the river.
Here is our dead, decomposing beaver.

Fourth of July

Yes, I know this should have been posted last week.
Our Fourth of July was the same as we have done the past few years. Saturday morning we went to the parade here in Alamosa. After the parade we packed up and jumped in the car to head up to Denver for the Rapid's Game.
The game was awesome to watch even though the Rapid's lost. The fireworks were what we were looking forward to for a year however the fireworks were a real let down. The company hired to do the fireworks had technical difficulties and we couldn't watch the fireworks. Oh well.

Now this was the most exciting we had all day! On our drive up to the game we saw a bear on the side of the road. We pulled around and we were able to get some pictures of him crossing the street and climbing a tree.
