Adventures in the Foothills

Friday was Dustin's first day of no school, he had completed his classes by Thursday.  David had been asking Dustin to stay home every day for the previous couple of weeks, so Friday was a special day for Dustin & David.  We spent the afternoon exploring the City Creek Trails.   The trails are a part of the Portneuf Greenway.  We really enjoyed hiking through the web of trails and realizing that we could see our townhouse from the trails was cool too.  The first little while we were on the trail David had to stop every 5-10 feet to explore the little side trail to the creek (which we were walking right next too) so we were slow at first until we started counting bridges.  At bridge number 2 we stopped for a snack.  Matthew didn't like when I would sit down so I just stood in the shade.

We had lots of fun and hope to go over there again soon.  We may even adopt a reach there so that we can help keep the trails nice.  While we were hiking we saw lots of mountain bikers and runners also using the trails.  Dustin and I may be able to go biking on the trails together sometime, if we can find a babysitter.

My Boys

David asked to hold Matthew.

I don't know why I always get pictures of the two boys together when they are matching.  I don't intentionally dress them that way - as a matter of fact David chooses his own clothes and dresses himself. 

Anyway, I really liked the boys together in the picture.

Sitting up

Matthew can sit pretty well when we nestle him up again the pillows on the couch.  These were taken yesterday morning for two reasons: 1) to show current pictures of our baby, and 2) to show off is super cute jammies that he was wearing for the first time.
Matthew sure loves to smile at his daddy!  That was the best picture I could get because of the delay of flash to reduce red eye.  The second one is just a close up of his chubby face with a little smurk - he wouldn't smile for me.

CO no mo'

For our entire marriage thus far our car has been registered in Colorado.  Alas, that is the case no longer.  We registered the car for Idaho, so now we have that "Famous Potatoes" license plate on the car.  We no longer have a bent up, buggy front plate and a flat clean plate on the back - now they are both flat and clean.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could register the car cheaper here, in Idaho, than we could in Colorado, we were even able to register the car for 2 years cheaper than one year in Colorado - that made us super happy!
