Flashlights

Oh, the joys of flashlights!
We have a bajillion flashlights in this house.
The boys both received Ikea flashlights in their stockings from Grandma Sharon and Grandpa David.  These flashlights wind up so no batteries are needed - nice.

Friday morning David woke up insanely early, like 5:30am, complaining of pain in his leg and foot.  I told him it was growing pains and that he needed to go back to bed.  Well, he didn't because I would see flashlight light around the house (I of course could not go back to sleep after being woken up - although I tried very hard).

About 6:45-7am I could hear two voices whispering and could see two flashlight beams.  The boys walked around the house exploring with their flashlights, careful not to turn on any lights.  They hunted the cat together and chased him around the house.  They explored our bedroom and tried to determine if Dustin or I were awake yet, I pretended to be asleep so that I could observe my boys together.  They tried out different flashlights and were good about sharing and trading.  The winding Ikea one is the clear favorite, by the way.  The boys played downstairs with the flashlights, doing who knows what, but they were having fun and getting along.

Although it was a very early morning I was glad to be able to observe it.  I was glad to see the boys getting along and playing nicely together.  I was glad that they didn't come wake us up but found ways to entertain themselves.

Oh, the joys of motherhood!
